Manila Travelling Like A Pro

Holiday season is about to come and many people are probably planning where they would spend vacation with their families. If given a chance, I would love to do another staycation with friends and another with my family, or a decent road trip to either Baguio or somewhere in the far North. Going to the beach, too, is in my choices. Though staying at home is also cool, it is nice to go elsewhere for a change.

Travelling in the Philippines is easy peasy now that we have a more advanced system. Air and sea ports are upgraded to match the needs of travelers. Accommodations of all price ranges are also everywhere – just go online and use a hotel booking site such as Traveloka and you can easily find a place to stay anywhere in the Philippines!

Would it be easier if we can enjoy our holiday season with no hassle and make it more meaningful together with our loved ones? Here are some of the tips I can provide and I’m wishing everyone to enjoy the rest of the holidays we have on the calendar.

PLAN YOUR VACATION. Speaking of a hassle-free, it will happen if we plan our vacation ahead. Though uncontrollable instances might happen along the way, at least, we can avoid of the major ones if we have a concrete plan about the upcoming getaway. Planning a month ahead is enough, then follow ups may be done a week before the date just to be sure, and by that, you still got time to flourish some things if there’s any that comes along the way.

CHECK FOR DISCOUNTED OFFERS. As I’ve said at the beginning of this post, accommodations are everywhere. Last month, I, together with my friends, was able to get an affordable room for staycation at one of the newly-opened beach clubs here in the metro. A lot of promos are ongoing, especially on Facebook. With the right search keywords, we can get the most affordable offers depending on the date that we want.

DOWNLOAD SOME TRAFFIC APPS. MMDA and Waze are some of the applications that I got on my phone. 30 minutes to an hour before I leave the house to go to work or elsewhere, I see to it that I check the traffic situation so I’d be emotionally ready for the stress brought by it. There is also an option where you can ask what time you will leave on your location to your destination presuming the traffic on the area. Waze has been a great help ever since and has been tagged as one of the seven must-have apps by middle-aged people.

RESEARCH ABOUT THE AREA. If it is your first time to be in the city, better do a research or plan your itinerary. Make sure that you know where the nearest mall is, or the nearest 24/7 restaurant of fast food just in case you feel hungry in the middle of the night, or perhaps the nearest hospital in case of emergency. Also list your second choices, in case the first ones fail you.

BE AWARE OF THE WEATHER. Would it be nice if we go out on a sunny day? There are mobile applications where we can check the weather for the following day, or if there’s any disturbance coming up. We can at least plan of any alternatives or change the date of the vacation.

Any other tips that you have? Share it out below!
